Yesterday's introductory lectures presented students with an overview of the course organization and philosophy, some thoughts on 'Research in Design', and some possible topics of interest for those uncertain about what to choose. The students also spoke briefly about their motivations for taking the Stand-Up Architecture course, as well as their preliminary ideas for topics and/or subject areas from within which they intend to choose their topics for research.

They have been asked to post to their blogs by the end of tomorrow summaries of those statements, as well as two or three trial research questions for comment by the instructors and tutors. The aim is to have finalized or nearly finalized research questions for presentation at the second class meeting.
