Yesterday the students presented their chosen topics, research questions, and some hypotheses regarding possible design solutions and/or other answers to those questions. In some cases these items are already quite focused and ready to be engaged experimentally, but a few students are still not certain about what question(s) they'd like to explore regarding their topics. Most are somewhere inbetween these states, so the main assignment for the coming days is for everyone to firm up their research questions and write down some possible answers (hypotheses) to them, as well as begin thinking about how to test these answers and feed the results back into the design loop.
